I remember a scene from my early-to-mid teen years, I think. I was in my room, ironing the week’s worth of clothes, and watching Oprah. There was a small, yet fat cubic piece of electronics called a TV, and it was placed on a dresser of some sort. God knows who was the guest in that particular episode, but I do remember what they were talking about. As I was gliding with the iron across a shirt, the guest in front of me bestowed 3 things she (or was it he?) deemed most important for effective skincare upon us: hydration, hydration and hydration. As I was already finishing with the housework, I turned the TV off and proceeded with putting away neatly folded clothes. The evening later was the beginning of my skincare routine buildup, and the first night (…)
The product in question is the newest lash baby from L’Oreal: Paradise Extatic. I remember I saw it coming to UK on a Youtube channel somewhere around summer, and I went all the way I could in order to find it. The whole beauty community raved how it’s an awesome product, such a bargain/dupe for the Too Faced Better Than Sex mascara (and just for this reason I bought that one the same day, too), a must have etc etc. Well, you wanna know my judgment?
A search for a perfect skincare product is much worse than finding an outfit for a special occasion. While you may endure super uncomfortable shoes for one night, purchasing a wrong cream might leave you in a way less attractive situation – slight discomfort might be the least to expect. Since drugstores, pharmacies and high-end cosmetic stores offer literally endless choices today, the quest might take eternity. And despite the available range, I still run my lifelong marathon among beauty shelves. My ideal eye cream (…)
During my recent trip to a German drugstore, I was secretly looking for the new L’Oréal Colorista Washout hair dyes, and among a dozen beautiful colours I took the pastel pink one for a tryout. Why? Well because I liked it on the packaging and when to do it if not now 😀 The results are quick, but so is the colour fading (…)
Recently I went through my old university photos (okay, maybe not so old really), and found my second year’s random shots with an at-the-time new camera. It was fun to see and reminiscent how both my makeup collection and organisation grew with years. Of course, it was never a full-size makeup-junkie-seen-on-Youtube kind of collection, but boy did I enjoy putting tiny pots in candy boxes! Nowadays I still enjoy the same ritual so you can imagine my happiness when I finally got my own vanity table: the Brimnes vanity table from Ikea (…)
Classic shower gels are so last year. I had been a faithful user for years and years of my life, and then I found out that skincare market has evolved. Now, I can choose among various novel textures to nourish my skin while cleansing it. Creams and oils are not just for dry skin anymore, but it was the time during which I went to see a dermatologist for dry body skin that I was recommended to try out some of the (…)
I am a big fan of ultra black, long and well-defined lashes (but then again who isn’t?), and wearing a mascara is a staple to my look. Not wearing it on a casual day will make everyone jump and ask: “Are you okay?” even if I’m wearing foundation, concealer, etc. Without it I just look tired, and sick I guess. And, of course, mascara was my first real piece of makeup to buy (…)
We all reach for it sometimes – even me, I admit! Spraying on some dry shampoo in the morning is way quicker, and more practical than all that fuss with actually washing and styling hair. And if you are like me, you would rather go straight to bed on a tired evening rather than spend 2 hours extra on maintaining those long tangles. In those cases, I totally can’t live without a dry shampoo near my reach, but there is a reasonable side of the story why it’s better (…)
